Obituary for Catherine "Cathleen" Radtke
Catherine B. Radtke, known as Cathy or Cathleen by friends and family, died peacefully at The Village at Brookfield Commons on May 24, 2020. She was 80 years old.
Born on October 21, 1939 in Bronx, NY daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (McCormill) McCreesh. Cathy was a graduate of St. Helena’s High School in Bronx, NY.
On October 19th at the age of 19 she married the love of her life John Radtke. John predeceased his wife in 1999.
Cathleen was a teachers aid with the Carmel Central School district for many years before retiring. Being a teachers aid allowed her to show compassion and support to those who needed it, she always loved to help people. She was a sports fan; especially baseball and the Yankees. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and also her friends. Cathy loved being active with the Patterson Seniors.
Mrs. Radtke is survived by her loving children; her daughter Eileen Seirup and her husband Andrew of Armenia, NY and her son John Radtke and his wife Marie of Brookfield, CT, her 5 grandchildren and her brother Raymond McCreesh. She was not only predeceased by her husband but also her four siblings; Patrick (Patsy), Rose, Eileen and Mary.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic A private family burial will take place at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson, NY. Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 south street, Patterson assisted the family with arrangements.
