Obituary for Ernest E. "Bud" Fischer

Ernest E. Fischer ‘Bud’, of Holmes, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on January 29. 2021. He was 89 years old.
Born on April 27, 1931 in Thornwood, NY, son of the late Edwin and Helen (Kinsky) Fischer. Bud honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a gunner’s mate on the U.S.S. Conway.
On September 5, 1981 Bud married the love of his life Marian F. Smith. Together they enjoyed 40 years of adventure and travel around the U.S.
Bud was a milk man with R.B. Henry in Valhalla, NY, for 25 years before retiring. He was a fire instructor with the State of New York and a past chief of the Thornwood Fire Department. Bud also owned the bowling alley in Pawling, NY for a few years. He was the jack of all trades. He enjoyed all types of woodworking, he enjoyed crafting.
Mr. Fischer is survived by his loving wife Marian, his children; Steven (Leslie) Fischer, Susan Fischer Roeser, Patricia (Kevin) Donohue, his stepchildren; George (Kathy) Smith, Joanne (Peter) Yager, Priscilla (Christopher) Hoffman, his 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Lorraine.
