Evalyn passed on Monday, June 29, 2020 in New York City. Born in the Bronx, NY on June 16, 1936, Evalyn was the daughter of James Rogers and Margaret Chapman Rogers. Both parents are deceased. Evalyn had two brothers, Ronald Rogers and Brian Rogers both deceased. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Kessman and her son-in-law Paul Kessman. Evalyn also had three stepsons, James Jr., Stanley and Thomas Haywood and a daughter-in-law Linda Haywood.
Evalyn had many grandchildren. Cailin Kessman, Nicky and Beth Haywood, Melissa, Danielli, Alison, Christian, Gina, George and Joey Haywood. Also, her 4 great grandchildren, Madeline, Leonitis, Damen and Penelope.
Evalyn was a graduate of Monroe College and belonged to The Order of the Eastern Star, Mineola Chapter # 716 for 60 years. She loved to bake gingerbread houses and take part in crafts.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 1pm at Quaker Hill Cemetery, Pawling, NY with the Rev. Stefan M. Gramenz of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Pawling, NY officiating. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street in Patterson, NY on Friday from 10:00am until 12 noon. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
