George W. Anderson Jr., age 68, of Patterson, NY, died on September 1, 2016 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

George was born on June 23, 1948 in Mahopac, NY to George W. and Mabel E. (Barrett) Anderson. He was a graduate of Carmel High School and proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1974.

In 1975, George married Linda Goldberg in Ludingtonville, NY (Township of Kent). Linda passed away on December 27, 2014.

George was a driver for the Putnam County Highway Department in Patterson, NY.

Through the years, George enjoyed both hunting and fishing, He grew incredible vegetable gardens sharing his vegetables with others. In the same way, he would give you ‘the shirt off his back’ to any friend in need. George loved his grandchildren and his two Dachshunds, Suzie and Brandy.

George is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Anderson of Carmel, NY and her fiancée Christopher Chase, and Robin Keeler (Richard of Wingdale, NY; his son George Anderson III (Jennifer) of Fishkill, NY; his two sisters, Lillian Hudson and Sissy Smith (Tom) both of Patterson, NY and his brother Wayne Anderson (Leanne) of Patterson, NY. Also his 7 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 10:00am at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8pm at Dwyer Funeral Home. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
