Obituary for Howard J. "Buzzy" Buzzutto

Buzzutto, Howard J. ‘Buzzy’, of Pawling, NY, formerly of Patterson, NY, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY. He was 91 years old.
Buzzy was born on December 6, 1925 in Mt. Kisco, NY to Howard H. and Jenny (Potts) Buzzutto. He attended schools in Pleasantville, NY and had served in the Army 100th Infantry Division during WWII from 1943 to 1946 having earned many recognitions and ribbons including the Bronze Star.

Buzzy met the love of his life Lucy Altamuro in 1948 and the two married in White Plains in 1950. Lucy passed on February 11, 2014.

Buzzy was the service manager for Griffin Ford in New Cannan, CT for over 30 years having retired in 1994.

A resident of Patterson since 1967, Buzzy was chairman of the Town of Patterson Planning and Zoning Board for 40 years. He had served on the Board of Elections for Patterson as well. Buzzy took great pride in the appearance of his property and enjoyed fishing and tinkering with many different projects. He was an avid Bowler and METS fan along with his wife Lucy. Buzzy was also a past member of the American Legion and Loyal Order of the Moose.

Buzzy is survived by three grandsons, Keith Sposato, Duane Buzzutto and Kevin Cody Rapp, his three great grandchildren, Joseph Sposato, Angelina Rapp and Avery Buzzutto and his son-in-law Richard Rapp of Brewster, NY . He was predeceased by his daughters; Sheila Buzzutto in 2004 and Kathleen Rapp in 2015

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, Pawling, NY. Burial will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson, NY. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24th from 4PM to 8PM at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
