Obituary for Lucinda Sarah Evans
Lucinda Sarah Evans of Carmel, NY passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, in Pawling, NY at the age of 77.
Lucinda was born May 2, 1945, in Danbury, CT, daughter of the late George & Priscilla (deHart) Pfahl. She graduated from Carmel High School in 1963. On June 26, 1971, she married the love of her life, Russell C. Evans in Patterson, NY.
Lucinda worked as an office manager for St. James ‘The Apostle’ Church in Carmel. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, especially at the family camp in Vermont on Lake Champlain. She also enjoyed ceramics, bowling, playing cards and her visits to Mohegan Sun. Lucinda was a great cook and even better baker.
She is survived by her loving husband, Russell C. Evans of Carmel; her children Tor Petersen of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and James Evans of Carmel; her siblings Jane Cronin of Pawling, NY and George Pfahl of Cedaredge, CO; her grandchildren; Steven, Zachary, Catie, TJ, Cole, Danny, and Nathan and her cat Lucy.
Lucinda is predeceased by her daughter Jennifer Elizabeth Evans on October 15, 2017, and her sister Sue Greenblott and Fred Covell.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Avenue Cemetery, 1062 NY-311, Patterson, NY, at 12:00 pm on May, 5, 2023.
