Obituary

Marcus R. Hyatt, of Hopewell Junction, NY, died at Vassar Bros. Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY on December 5, 2020. He was 83 years old.
Born on April 18, 1937 in Mahopac, NY, son of the late Raymond and Iva (Bryant) Hyatt. Marcus attended schools in Mahopac.
On May 7, 1960 Marcus married the love of his life Mary L. ‘May’ Finney in Ludingtonville, NY
Marcus was a Carpenter and General Contractor for many years retiring in 2002. A 30-year resident of Hopewell Junction, Marcus had lived in Carmel, NY prior.
Marcus was exceptional gardener and an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as, a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a farmer from a young age through much of his adult years. A loving husband, as well as, a proud and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, Marcus was happiest surrounded by his family.
Marcus is survived by his wife Mary of 60 years; his two sons, Marcus R. Hyatt Jr. and his wife Brenda of Claverack, NY and Bryan S. Hyatt of Hopewell Jct., NY; a brother Richard John Hyatt and his wife Judy of Dover Plains, NY; 4 grandsons, Tad, Daniel, Peter and John and his 2 great grandchildren, his great granddaughter Juliana and great grandson Aries. Also, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and supportive sister and brother-in-laws and mother-in-law, Ida Finney of Carmel, NY. Marcus was pre-deceased by a granddaughter Anica, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 11AM at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. Interment will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 8th from 4 to 8pm. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
